Fathers

What happens to Chinese men when they get older? No matter how polite, genteel and well-mannered they are when young, somehow, over the years they morph into something completely different. At what point to they change from gentlemen to men who slurp their soup, who burp and fart without care, who pee with the doors open (and then don't flush), who sleep on the floor, who gargle all their drinks and who use toothpicks after dinner and suck (with great delight) on all the food that they've unearthed between their teeth? But you gotta love these curmudgeons, even when they're dislodging phlegm every 10 minutes, because they're the guys who came to this country with $5 in their pockets and not a lick of English and somehow managed to be successful. And they're our dads ;)

That's sweet, Annie. Not the sappiest Father's Day blog I read but sweet anyway :)

*LOL* "Since when have you met my dad?"

Actually, my dad isn't quite like that yet. Still he's had a tough life, and his Dad-quirks are forgiveable, if not endearing :)
