Round and round we go

Survivor's Lap - Relay for Life, May 26, 2006

Our team tent and table of junk food (hey we need fuel!)
Kari gets into the chips
Last week, corporate teams, families, Girl Guides, students and mommies got together, braved the rain and muck and participated in the Relay for Life. This year, it was at the Planetarium, which unfortunately meant that we were running around a circle of pylons placed on a patch of grass!! I got dizzy just from walking around it for an hour. (Luckily we all had shifts). Of course, with all the rain, this "track" turned into mud after 12 hours of people going round and round and round...I hope I don't get reincarnated as a horse in the next life! Still, it was a fun experience - we had a little barbeque, there was coffee and food all night long, and the Planetarium was open, so we could play video games, and watch laser show and movies whenever we got too cold and wet. Plus the event raised over $100,000 for the BC Cancer society! Thanks to Kari for organizing everything. Rommel - next time we get first dibs on the tent!
